[Todd woke up early today, perhaps disturbed from his sleep by the fact that something was just not right, and discovered upon waking that he was, in fact, now a she. Upon making this discovery, he opted to retreat into the spare bedroom, where he has since been hiding out... and fully intends to remain for the rest of the day. Early on, he does make the following post.]

I'm not really feeling very well, so I think I'm going to stay in today.

I'm sure the library will be fine, of course... I just wanted to let everyone know.

[Neil wakes up later-- not much later, because well, Neil doesn't generally sleep late-- and after a few minutes waiting for Todd to come back, jumps up and out of bed in a panic to look for the other boy.]

Todd?

[He calls out, voice quavering and uncertain as he walks down the hall, still rubbing at his eyes.]

[The tone in Neil's voice is more than enough to make Todd immediately guilty - he didn't see a choice other than to go hide, given the state he found himself in upon waking. Obviously that left Neil alone with no explanation... which is something Todd would have realized if he hadn't been panicking.

So he gets up, walks to the closed door, and does his best to force his voice down to its normal range. It's a valiant effort, and mostly successful.]

[The relief is palpable as he stops short, and guessing correctly at the origin of that answer walks over to lean against the other side of the door.]

[The pained expression, and the effectiveness with which his furrowed eyebrows and pursed frown translate over to his new face, is wasted on the door, but it isn't a strictly voluntary response.]

[He stops, takes a deep breath. Todd sounds a little squeaky but that's probably just nerves, right?]

[There's a long pause, and he clears his throat, trying to keep his voice from sounding too feminine. It's difficult to keep it up, but even if it's obvious that he can't keep this from Neil all day, it's more than a little disconcerting to hear yourself speak and hear a voice that sounds nothing like your own.]
